Welcome to Moniqo ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("App").

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• First name and last name
• Email address
• Profile photo (optional, if you add one during registration)

1.2 Financial Data

To provide our budgeting services, we collect and store:

• Income and expense transactions you enter
• Budget categories and amounts
• Recurring transactions and reminders
• Receipt details extracted from receipt images, such as merchant, date, amount, category, and note, when you use the receipt scanner feature

1.3 Device Information

We may automatically collect:

• Device type and operating system version
• App version
• Language and currency preferences

1.4 Camera Access

If you grant permission, we access your device camera or selected photos solely for the receipt scanning feature. Receipt images are processed temporarily for analysis. We do not intentionally store the original receipt image in your Moniqo account; if you save a scanned receipt, the extracted transaction details are stored.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the App
• Create and manage your user account
• Store and sync your financial data across devices
• Process receipt images temporarily to extract transaction data
• Send local notifications (budget alerts and reminders)
• Convert currencies using real-time exchange rates

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

3.1 Firebase (Google)

• Firebase Authentication: To securely manage user accounts and sign-in
• Cloud Firestore: To store and sync your data securely in the cloud

3.2 Google Gemini AI

We use Google's Gemini AI to:

• Analyze receipt images and extract transaction data

Receipt images and extracted receipt text may be sent to Gemini AI solely for receipt analysis. Moniqo does not use receipt data for advertising. Google's use of data is governed by Google's applicable AI privacy terms and policies: ai.google/responsibility/privacy

3.3 Exchange Rate API

We fetch real-time currency exchange rates from third-party APIs. No personal data is sent in these requests.

4. Data Storage & Security

• Your data is stored in Firebase Cloud Firestore, hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure
• Data is encrypted in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
• Local data is stored on your device using standard web storage mechanisms
• We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account through the App, your active account records and associated app data are deleted from Firebase. Residual copies in backups, logs, or security records may take up to 30 days to be removed.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Delete your account and associated data through the App settings
• Export your financial data
• Withdraw consent for optional features (camera, notifications)

7. Children's Privacy

Moniqo is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will promptly delete it.

8. Notifications

With your permission, we send local device notifications for:

• Daily expense logging reminders
• Budget threshold alerts
• Upcoming and overdue payment reminders

You can disable notifications at any time through the App settings or your device settings.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
